Itineraries on the amalfi Coast

WHAT YOU WOULD NOT WANT TO MISS  ON THE AMALFI COAST
Astonishing to imagine that this amazing coast is actually only 20 miles long, but this most appealing place has all the charm you ever thought to find in paradise. Hillside retreats, hanging gardens, amazing sea-views, old maritime ports, amazing islands, delicious food and wonderful people – are all to be found here. The Coast is covered with vineyards, lemon and olive groves , all fertilized by the volcanic Vesuvian soil. the air is fragrant with the scent of the almond and chestnut trees hiden amongst the wild rosemary, fresh basil and tomatoes.

Your Amalfitana experience will enrich you with all sorts of amazing images: visuals – the overwhelming sea, the Lattari Mountains, the small picturesque fisherman's villages; olfactory – the smell of limoncello and the endless flavors and savours of the best cuisine in the world; auditory – the merry ferry sound when leaving for an amazing exploration, the voices of the Italian women singing in the fish markets. Still, there are some places you should not miss while enjoying La Dolce Vita on the Amalfi Coast – Ravello , Positano , Vietri sul Mare, Pompei (with Vesuvius) and The Blue Grotto.

Ravello is definitely the most fascinating place along the Amalfi Coast , at 350m above sea level, offering breathtaking sea views. The place was a preferred destination for writers, artists and musicians – Richard wagner , Giovanni Boccaccio , Virginia Woolf , Gore Vidal. Try to get to Villa Rufolo , where the annual Wagnerian concerts are hosted , and Villa Cimbrone , overlooking the whole coastline.

Positano is the romantic side of the Amalfi Coast , with its charming white houses,  clinging to the rocks,  overlooking the blue sea. The world of cinema is seduced by Positano's beauty: Dolce Vita found its home right in this enchanting place. When too overwhelmed, from the stunning beauty of the sea, why not visit to the Collegiata di Santa Maria Assunta , a church dating back to the 1200s, home to a beautiful Byzantine icon called “Madonna di Positano ”.

Vietri sul mare is located just 3km from Salerno, and is actually a sort of terrace hosting the San Liberatore mountain, rising from its center, overlooking the Gulf of Salerno and the wide beaches and the clear blue sea of Marina di Vietri .

Pompei (with Vesuvius) was destroyed in 79 AD by the eruption of Vesuvius, and was buried under ashes and volcanic lava. The original structure of the ancient Roman city was brought to light with its entirely fascinating details – roads, temples, shops, houses and even people who were petrified by the lava.

The Blue Grotto ( Grotta Azzura ) is a must-see attraction near the Isle of Capri . Just like the Statue of Liberty and the Eiffel Tower – a magic cavity, offering a surreal view, as the blue transparent color give s you the impression of navigating through a clear sky, while the boats looks like they are floating on a fantastic universe. Actually the name comes from the blue light shining through the salt water of the Mediterranean Sea and filling the cave with blue reflections. Even from the opening, the cave is very narrow, and you will have to lie on the bottom of the boat to get inside. Even if the boatman will not sing for you, you should test the marvelous acoustics of the grotto, and sing a melodious song yourself. Another secret of this grotto is the exotic ecosystem, similar to the one from the Galapagos Islands .
